Hive of Fame Showcase Gets a New Look
The Girard School District Foundation is excited to share the transformation of the former Hive of Fame showcase at Girard High School!
The original showcase had proudly displayed Hive of Fame honorees for many years, but the Foundation saw an opportunity to create something more modern, interactive, and representative of the entire Girard School District.
The renovation started from the ground up. The original plaques and glass were removed, the showcase was repaired and drywalled, everything was prepped and painted, and a completely new design was installed. The finished space incorporates Girard's red and yellow with our Yellowjacket, and a honeycomb design that brings the "Hive" to life.
But this project is about much more than a new look.
At the center of the new showcase will be an interactive touchscreen TV, replacing the traditional Hive of Fame plaques. Visitors will be able to touch the screen to explore photos and biographies of our Hive of Fame honorees. Going digital also gives us the flexibility to continually update the display and use it to showcase so much more.
The touchscreen will provide an opportunity to learn about the Girard School District, explore its history and achievements, and discover the many ways the Girard School District Foundation supports our students, teachers, and schools.
We love seeing the transformation from where we started to where we are today—and we're even more excited about what this new space will allow us to share in the years ahead.
Take a look at the transformation below—and when you visit Girard High School, go ahead and touch the screen! Explore the Hive, learn about our District, and see how the Girard School District Foundation is making a difference.
A special thank you to WavePoint for generously donating the vinyl materials that helped bring this new look to life.
