Brigadier General David MacEwen graduated from Girard High School in 1978. David graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, Clarion, PA, with a BS in Business Management in 1981. He then graduated from United States War College, Newport, Rhode Island, with a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies in 2002.
David is a senior career military officer with successful management and leadership experience and a reputation for meeting the most challenging organizational goals and objectives. He has unique leadership, interpersonal, communication and public relations skills that are ideal for leading a large organization and developing strong rapport with individuals at all levels. David has thirty years of experience creating and implementing American Defense Policy for the United States Army and the Department of Defense in peace and combat. He was promoted to Brigadier General on January 27, 2012 and will be posted at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as the Commanding General, United States Army Soldier Support Center.
David's professional experience includes being selected for command at all levels from Detachment (45 soldiers), Personnel Services Company (150 soldiers), Personal Battalion (600 soldiers), to Personnel Brigade (1500 soldiers and civilians). He served in key staff positions at all levels of the Army. David's combat deployments include Desert Storm, Albania during the Kosovo Air War, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
