Cheryl Newton is a financial executive with 40+ years of experience.  Cheryl has worked for private and publically traded manufacturing companies as well as distribution and non-profit companies, developing a wealth of knowledge in various Finance and Accounting methods, processes, procedures, and controls. She is a graduate of Rice Avenue Union High School (Girard) and earned her BS in Mathematics and Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and an MBA at Gannon University.   Additionally Cheryl was sponsored by her current employer to attend and complete Columbia University’s Executive Education Program.   Cheryl and her husband, Duane “Butch” Kemling, live in Girard. Cheryl has always been a supporter for non-profit and educational organizations.  To name some of her volunteer activities, Cheryl was a member of the Girard School Board, the Corry Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, the Brown Memorial Hospital Finance Committee, the Community Liaison Committee for the State Correctional Institution at Albion, the Erie Women’s Roundtable, the GUM Day Care Board of Directors, and the Erie County Election Judicial Review Board.  Cheryl was also a volunteer with a program in Erie that worked to assist women who were experiencing the difficulties of separation or divorce.   As a lifelong member of the Girard United Methodist Church, Cheryl has served on many committees and continues to lead its Finance Committee and serve as a member of its Church Council.  She is a founding member of the Girard School District Foundation.
