Kathleen Roberts Scholarship, $500

  • Earned mostly A’s in advanced Mathematics classes.
  • Must complete at least 2 of the 3 following classes: Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.
  • Accepted at a college/university with a declared major of one of the following: Mathematics Education, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or Engineering.

Outstanding Character and Integrity Scholarship, $500

  • Must be a GHS graduating senior who will be attending a post-secondary educational institution (college, university, trade school, etc.) or entering a US Service Branch.
  • Must be actively involved in extracurricular or community activities.
  • Must include at least one letter of reference from a GSD Faculty member, GSD Administrator, or a local clergy, community or business leader.
  • Essay: What Outstanding Character and Integrity means to me, and how I exemplify these characteristics in my daily life.

Girard School District Foundation Ambassador Scholarship, $500

  • Must be a GHS graduating senior who will be attending a post-secondary educational institution (college, university, trade school, etc.)
  • Must have excellent attendance of at least 95%
  • Must have no disciplinary infractions
  • Must list involvement in community activities, if any.
  • Must have earned good grades, while participating in extracurricular activities.
  • Essay: Summarize your qualifications.

  • All seniors applying are requested to write an essay answering these questions:

    • Do the causes of heart disease differ from men versus women?
    • What are the warning signs of heart disease for women?
    • What can a woman do to prevent heart disease?
    • Do you know anyone who has or had heart disease and if so, how has it impacted his/her life?

    • How will your chosen field allow you to make these improvements?
