  • School principals determine whether or not the proposed project meets Girard School District educational guidelines and forward all applications to the superintendent, within three business days after deadline.
  • The superintendent determines whether or not the proposed project meets Girard School District educational guidelines and forward all applications to the Girard School District Foundation, C/O Barb DeJesus, Girard School District within five business days after the deadline to the Administrative Building.
  • Barb DeJesus scans and emails applications to all Allocation Teacher/Staff Grants committee members along with a score sheet.
  • Teacher/Staff Grants committee has seven days to review and score applications.
  • Teacher/Staff Grants committee is to schedule a meeting before the next GSD Foundation Board meeting to discuss scores and select grants to be awarded.
  • The chair of the Teacher/Staff Grants committee will submit a written report at the next GSD Foundation meeting listing all the grants received, present the selected grants and request the GSDF Board to vote to approve grant funding. The GSD Foundation Board will notify the applicants of approval or rejection within five business days after GSD Foundation meeting.
  • All participants are required to submit a completed district requisition form to your building principal within 30 days, along with a copy of the detailed budget you submitted with the grant application. Any changes in items to be ordered must be approved by the GSD Foundation.
  • All participants are required to submit an interim progress report May 1st and December 1st for fall and spring grants respectively.
  • All participants are required to submit a one page typed final report, which describes how student learning has been enhanced, with recommendations for possible future use of these ideas at the conclusion of the project. This report is due December 1st and May 1st for fall and spring grants respectively.

 

Deadlines for Fall 2017 

  • Application deadline is 9:00 am, Wednesday, October 4, 2017.
  • Applications sent to Superintendent by 9:00 am, Monday, October 9, 2017.
  • Packets sent to Administrative Office by the end of the day, Monday, October 16, 2017.
  • Packets emailed to Teacher/Staff Grants committee the end of the day, Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
  • Teacher/Staff Grants committee members review applications October 19 – 25, 2017.
  • Teacher/Staff Grants committee meets before, Thursday, November 2, 2017 to review and decide on selected grants.
  • Teacher/Staff Grants committee brings recommendations to the Foundation Board meeting for approval November 2, 2017.
  • The GSD Foundation President will notify the applicants by, Friday, November 10, 2017.
  • Teachers receiving awards must order all materials by December 11, 2017.
  • Participants submit a one page progress report to the GSD Foundation May 1, 2018.
  • Participants submit a one page final report to the GSD Foundation December 1, 2018.
